Privacy Policy

LakaPlay is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of all users, especially children under the age of 14 ("Children"). This Privacy Policy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA), and the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online, ensuring that all personal information collection, use, storage, and disclosure practices are transparent, secure, and compliant. We have also set up specialized children's personal information protection rules and designated personnel responsible for children's personal information protection, in line with regulatory requirements.

By using LakaPlay's website and services (collectively, the "Services"), you (as a parent or legal guardian of a Child, or an adult user) agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We will only collect personal information that is necessary for providing and improving our Services, and we will never sell or rent personal information to third parties without explicit consent. We will inform you and obtain your consent in a prominent and clear manner before collecting children's personal information, and provide you with an option to refuse.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, maintain, and improve our Services, and to ensure the safety of our users. The information we collect is divided into the following categories, in line with the principle of "minimum necessary" stipulated in the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online:

1.1 Personal Information

For Children: We only collect personal information that is strictly necessary for the use of our Services, and we will obtain verifiable consent from the Child's parent or legal guardian before collecting any personal information. We will not collect personal information unrelated to the services provided. The personal information we may collect includes:

  • Username (chosen by the parent/guardian, non-identifiable real name);
  • Age or age range (to provide age-appropriate games and content);
  • Parental contact information (e.g., email address) for verification and communication purposes only, in compliance with the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online.

For Adult Users (Parents/Guardians): When you register an account or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, and other contact information to respond to your inquiries, process your requests, and ensure compliance with legal requirements. We will not collect unnecessary personal information from adult users.

1.2 Non-Personal Information

We automatically collect non-personal information that does not identify individual users, which is used to improve our Services and optimize the user experience. This includes:

  • Device information (e.g., device type, operating system, browser type);
  • Usage data (e.g., games played, time spent on the platform, features used);
  • IP address (for security purposes and to determine geographic location in a non-identifiable manner);
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (to remember user preferences and provide personalized content). You can manage or disable Cookies through your browser settings, but this may affect the normal use of some services.

2. How We Use the Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes, all of which are consistent with the principle of purpose clarity stipulated in the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online. If we need to use the information for other purposes beyond the scope specified in this Policy, we will re-obtain the consent of the parent/guardian:

  • To provide and maintain our Services (e.g., allowing Children to access age-appropriate games, enabling parents to monitor their child's usage);
  • To improve and optimize our Services (e.g., analyzing usage data to enhance game content, fix technical issues, and tailor the platform to user needs);
  • To ensure user safety (e.g., preventing unauthorized access, detecting and addressing inappropriate behavior, and complying with child protection laws);
  • To communicate with users (e.g., responding to parental inquiries, notifying users of Service updates or changes to this Privacy Policy);
  • To comply with legal obligations (e.g., responding to legal requests, complying with COPPA and the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online).

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We strictly adhere to relevant laws and regulations and will not share, sell, rent, or disclose personal information to third parties except in the following circumstances, in line with the provisions of the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online:

  • With parental/guardian consent: We will only share personal information with third parties if we have obtained explicit consent from the parent or legal guardian;
  • With service providers: We may share non-personal information or de-identified personal information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services (e.g., hosting services, technical support, analytics). These service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from using the information for any purpose other than providing services to us, in line with the requirements for entrusting third parties to process children's personal information in the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online;
  • For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of our users or others;
  • In the event of a merger or acquisition: If we are acquired by or merge with another company, we may transfer personal information to the new owner, but we will ensure that the new owner complies with this Privacy Policy, and we will notify parents/guardians of such changes in a timely manner.

4. Data Security and Storage

We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, in compliance with the safety protection provisions of the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online:

  • Encrypting personal information during transmission and storage;
  • Restricting access to personal information to authorized personnel only, following the principle of minimum authorization;
  • Regularly updating security technologies and conducting security audits;
  • Storing personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our Services or comply with legal obligations. After that, we will securely delete or anonymize the information, in line with the requirement that the storage of children's personal information shall not exceed the necessary period stipulated in the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online;
  • In the event of a leak, damage, or loss of children's personal information that may cause serious consequences, we will promptly report to the competent authorities and notify parents/guardians one by one or issue an announcement.

5. Parental Rights

In accordance with COPPA and the Measures for the Protection of Children's Personal Information Online, parents/guardians have the following rights regarding their child's personal information:

  • Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent to our collection and use of your child's personal information at any time. After withdrawal, we will no longer collect or use your child's personal information, but this will not affect the validity of the information collected and used before the consent was withdrawn;
  • To exercise the above rights, please contact us via the email provided in the "Contact Us" section, and we will verify your identity and respond to your request in a timely manner.

6. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to comply with changes in laws and regulations, or to adapt to changes in our Services. When we make material changes to the Policy, we will notify parents/guardians through prominent positions on our platform (e.g., pop-up prompts, email notifications) and obtain your consent again if required by law. The updated Privacy Policy will take effect on the date of publication.
